In 2004, I spent the summer gluing superballs to magnets and covered my refrigerator with them.
I’m not sure it’s "art", but it made me and many other people happy.
As an added bonus, I accidentally found out one night that about 50% of the superballs glow in the dark.
If you are going to take this on as a project, the best glue I found was Uhu, for gluing metal to rubber. I used magnets so they would be reconfigurable.
